18. Side Quest x Richmond x Touchwood

Jaz:

Hello, folks. Welcome to this episode of My Mate In... . This week I was spending some time in Richmond and I found a cafe that I hadn't tried before. It is called Touchwood. Welcome to this episode of My Mate In... where I like to tell you about yummy places to go get food and drinks.

Jaz:

Like the most recent episode where I was telling you about Ellis' Belly, Touchwood has a similar kind of industrial white vibe so it also has concrete floors it's a much bigger space than Ellis' Belly, it's also on a main strip so it's on Bridge Street in Richmond. They have a really cool menu. I think I want to try almost everything on there. The physical space is really nice and clean design wise. It's Bridge Street so if you sit in the window you're gonna see lots of cute dogs go past. We sat in the window, we enjoyed coffees, we watched these dogs go past, particularly admired a British bulldog called Alfie, wanted to make friends but good to give dog space. I had Touchwood's waffle dish and the thing that I really liked about this was it had a pistachio cream that my brain just couldn't really understand what it was and what kind of flavour it was except that I just knew it was delicious. The dish, it's pretty sweet altogether. I really enjoy just the pistachio cream with the waffle but it also has chocolate sauce. It has like a berry panna cotta that sits on top and it's served with berries. When it comes out it's just you know chef kiss looks beautiful. Timmy came along with me and got a bacon and egg roll and it looked and smelt really good, like barbecue sauce looked really delightful and both her coffees were good as well. So this is one that I would recommend if you're walking around Bridge Street on the weekend, find yourself in Richmond, Touchwood is a nice place to try out. I hope you enjoy it. Sending you all the best and hoping that you're keeping warm in this chilly Melbourne winter.
